Do You Recommend Wealthy Affiliate?

October 30th, 2009 IllulganK No comments

I visited WealthyAffiliate.com and scanned through what the program offers. As as a monthly subscriber for $30 per month, you get Internet marketing training & tools, website development training & tools, monthly PLR articles, personal coaching, and membership forum.
I am familiar with the PLR articles as I joined a free-trial membership of another website. Their PLR content were so general with not much thought put into it with no expertise. It looks like anyone could have written them. Do you recommend going this PLR route to make money off of the Internet? Also, describe the PLR articles and the website templates of WealthyAffiliate.com.
Tell me about your success or failure from WealthyAffiliate.com. Do you recommend it? Do you like their program? How much money are you making or did you make? Is it recommended for beginners or only more experienced marketers?

One Speed Reading Trick That Does Work

August 21st, 2009 IllulganK No comments

Reading is one of the main ways we use to absorb information, and being able to read fast is something that most of us would like. If you could read 100% faster, for instance, you would read twice as many books every year, or the newspaper twice as fast every morning.

The problem is that most speed reading tricks and techniques never work as promised.

This week I came across a video explaining a trick that surprised me though. It takes some time to get used, but once you do I am sure you will feel a tangible increase in the speed that you read. Here is the video:

The basic idea is that you need to stop reading with your larynx (i.e., trying to pronounce each word as you go, even if just mentally) and start reading with your eyes (i.e., the information is processed by the brain immediately as you see it).

The trick to shift from one to the other is try pronounce something as you read, like “aeiou” or “123.” Sounds weird, but for me it worked.

What Is the Average CTR on Twitter? Let’s Find Out

August 11th, 2009 IllulganK No comments

Twitter is certainly a new tool for online marketers and website owners, as it can be used to generate traffic to any page, from blog posts to services and sales pages.

The problem is that we don’t know how efficient this tool is. More specifically, what kind of CTR (click-through rate) do Twitter accounts have? That is, how many people would click on a link tweeted by an account with X followers?

Obviously the CTR will vary from case to case, as some accounts will have more engagement with their followers than other accounts, but I guess it would be possible to find an average, or at least a ballpark number.

If I needed to make a rough guess, I would say that the ballpark CTR is between 0.25% and 2,5%. So an account with 10,000 followers would get anywhere from 25 up to 250 clicks on its tweets.

If we work together, though, we can try to improve that guess. Here is how:

  1. First of all create an account on bit.ly (takes 2 seconds).
  2. After that pick a web page that you would like to share with your followers (like a post from your blog or some cool website), and shorten the URL inside your bit.ly account.
  3. Tweet a message describing that page and containing the bit.ly link.
  4. Wait at least a couple of hours and count the total number of clicks.
  5. Post a comment below informing how many clicks you got and how many followers you have.

It is necessary to create an account with bit.ly and log into it before shortening the link else you will not be able to track your individual stats.

I will do this with my Twitter account as well, and after you guys post your comments I will group the data and try to analyze it. Next Tuesday I will post the results.

Thanks in advance for everyone who will help.

Text Links With High Page Rank Sites

June 3rd, 2009 IllulganK No comments

It’s difficult to sell links on website with low page rank nowadays if we stick to system such as Text-Link-Ads where it requires our website to have at least Page Rank of 4 to be accepted. If our websites have low pr then it’s more irrelevent for us to remain with the advertising network that emphasize the importance of high PR.
