It looks like we had another PageRank update yesterday. I noticed a couple of small fluctuations within my sites, and some readers also told me that their PageRank moved.

I am not writing about all PageRank updates anymore because there is nothing new with them, right? I made an exception this time because apparently Google is increasing the frequency of the updates.

If I remember well some six weeks ago we also had a PageRank update. I didn’t notice it personally, but I saw a lot of people talking about it over the online forums and blog comments.

Did you notice the update six weeks ago? What about yesterday’s one?

What is Google Page Rank and how does it affect me you ask.

What is Google Page Rank and how does it affect me you ask. Google Page Rank is a website score that represents how important a websites relevance is in the category of business they represent. Google gets this score from measuring the amount of quality links pointing to your site from other websites with the same relevance.
If you have a link to your website from another website with a Google Page Rank of 5 and is relevant to the subject matter your company represents, then Google sees that as a quality link. If you can get your link on a homepage of a high ranking website that is relevant to yours, then you will get a higher score than putting it on a sub page of the site which will usually get a lower Page Rank.
Google usually makes a major Page Rank update every three to four months. Its servers around the globe have to compare there information and the Page Rank is not complete until all of Googles servers have been updated with the new Page Rank scores.
The Page Rank is measured from 1 to ten one being the lowest score and ten being the highest you can have. New sites and sites that have not had any search engine optimization applied to them will have a score of 0. If you use Mozilla Firefox for browsing you can install a new add called SEO Quake. This tool will allow you to see how many links you have in Google and Yahoo.
It will show you the sites page rank and when the site was registered. You can do a search in Google for new music for example. The free results will show up with all the link info and page rank score below the text listing. You can compare all the sites for yourself and can make a partial determination that the Google Page Rank is still a large factor is determining your placement for targeted keywords in the free listings.
I currently manage the SEO campaigns for 27 successful websites and have noticed my Google placement on all staying consistent in their positions as Yahoo and MSN positions continue to rise. Google has made several updates on my back link quality and count on each site but I see little movement in the sites placement since April when the last PR update was performed. The page rank is more than just a number and if it is that irrelevant than Google has not made many other major updates on its server since April either.
Just remember, optimize your site for your customers first and for the search engines second. You can get plenty of traffic using the wrong keywords but visitors will see your site is not what they were looking for when they get there. A few quality back links are more relevant than a bunch of non relevant back links. Use common sense and consider what your customers are looking for and what they expect to see when they get to your website.

Well it finally happened, the Google Page rank update.

Well it finally happened, the Google Page rank update. Google updated all of my page ranks on all of the sites I manage the search engine optimization for. I am happy to say that none of my page ranks haven fallen and several have gained one or two places.
Google’s last page rank update was in April and many webmasters have been waiting since the last update to reap the rewards of all the hard work they have put in optimizing pages, building quality back links, adding continuous fresh content, and holding their breaths.
I haven’t seen any keyword placement movement since the new Google update but it may take up to two full weeks to see how significant the Google page rank still is to search engines like Yahoo and MSN.
I believe Google page rank is still relevant and will impact millions of websites around the world. The Google page rank is a calculation of various areas of your sites worth and as Google adjust its algorithm to come up with the best possible score for your websites value in the market your are trying to place in again.
Many of you are now seeing page ranks on new sites that have had a score of zero for several months. Others of you have see your great page rank go down, which may hurt your overall placement only time will tell.
I have seen the results of page ranks dropping on Text Link sites due to selling of these links but haven’t seen the punishment Google is said to be giving out to people who purchase these links for their sites. I am sure Google is weighing the cheating factor and grading the sites accordingly.
Now that a new Google page rank has been made, don’t stop optimizing your site planning to wait until the last minute to spam the system. Continue working hard as even more and more competitors are coming online as we speak. Do what’s best for your customer and the search engines usually follow right along.
Good content, placing your links in the right places, and streamlining your met tags will always payoff in the end. Remember in search engine optimization, you have to be patient, be diligent, and know that your are targeting the right keywords and audience for your business.
Until the next big Google update, take care of your business and your business will take care of you.

There are some similar plugins available for Firefox, but this one seems to be more robust. It checks for a wide range of optimization steps, including proxy caching, DNS lookups, CSS combination, Javascript loading and parallel downloads. Worth a try.

Your ears will start listening the world yelling “Google Wave” and by the end of this year this will be loud and clear. I will call Google Wave a next generation Communication Platform.

Google was always first to introduce cool and great tools to Internet surfers. Gmail is the best example of it. I trust that Gmail is one of the most trusted and reliable email service in the world. Apart from this, Google have created tons of applications for all of us and that’s free of cost.

Just Look at some Google Tools and Applications

· Google Docs

· Google Mail (Gmail)

· Google World

· Orkut

· Google Alerts

· Blog Search

· Google Adword

· Google Adsense

· And more and more and more….

And I know that you know more services may be more then me.

With all the powerful and extra ordinary existing tools and applications created, Google is going to add a new Family Member to their Tools & Application List and that is Google Wave. Yes Google Wave is new web application that is developed by the same team who created the most used maps application in the world “Google Maps”

This time this team gets assigned to create such a magical application that will change the meaning of communication on the Internet. There are a lot of IM tools on the web including Gtalk from google then why Google needs to add Google Wave?

Google Wave is different. You even would not get to know that you are on a browser. Yes Google wave will run on a browser any browser like IE, Firefox or Chrome.

While I am finishing this post Google Wave is still in Development & it’s yet not ready for General Users.

The technique you commune via Google Wave will be lightening fast and will be real time. You will feel that you are using something like a future tech gadget lolz J. Well you will get to know why I said future tech gadget by the end of this year when Google Wave will be available for General Users. Google wave is independent from any frameworks and can be run on any browser as I said earlier in this post. You don’t have to install any thing to make run the Google Wave.

Well I know my text would not let you see what I am all talking about so I added the developer’s preview video at the end of this post. See that video and check the demo of Google Wave extra ordinary features and functions that will take you in the next stage of communication.

There are lot of fresh features that are added in Google Wave which were not available yet in any other application as far my knowledge. Let me give you some tips on that.

1. Advance Spell Checker

2. Conversation Tree structure

3. Conversation History

4. Collaborative Document Editing

5. Drag & Drop Uploader

6. API Development

You can embed the Google Wave in to any site or blog so that you can interact with your site audience from one platform. You can add more workflows like MySpace, My favorite Twitter or Facebook etc… using the API service in Google Wave.

If you are a developer and want to get into Google Wave before its launched then go to Google Wave API developer Account Page and get a developer sandbox account.

And yes the most of all Google will be open sourced and even you can develop a site like Google Wave and even can compete against Google if you have guts lolz J. And as far I know Google have allowed competition for the fist time in their field. In Short google went this to be a open source as the email protocol

httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_UyVmITiYQ

Here is the video that I recommend you to must watch. It’s a bit long video of about 1 hr 20 min but it’s worth watching. If you really want to know how Google Wave works then do see this video. After watching this video you will be in love with the Big Google Wave.

Page rank is all about the number of links between your website and other relevant websites. Google is actually interested in links between individual pages of a site rather then just a domain.

The page rank of a web page can be seen in the Google page rank bar on the Google Toolbar. It actually takes 10 links to reach PR1, and then a lot more to reach 2 and up. That’s not it, because it also depends on the Page Rank of the page that will be linking to your page. Nobody knows the exact formula Google uses to determine your page rank, but there are ways to improve your rank and thus build your business through more traffic to your site.

Try out these five Google tips to help get more traffic to your website:

1.How can you increase your Google page rank? By increasing the amount of relevant websites that link back to yours. Keep in mind that the links do not need to be specific to your site, but to your specific pages. This is why it’s called page rank.

TIP: Avoid using link farms or Free For All (FFA) pages!

2. Use keyphrases and not keywords. Keywords are not specific enough anymore to help you rank well in Google due to the large number of websites competing for traffic. Avoid wasting your time optimizing your pages using keywords only. By using specific keyphrases where there is less competition you have a much better chance to rank well in Google and to also improve the quality of your websites traffic.

3. Google likes to see a lot of copy on your web pages. The copy text should contain your keyphrases, but should also be informative and helpful. Why would someone visit your website if you just list your keyphrases? The content of your website should encourage your visitors to laugh, think, get upset, and stay informed. But most importantly should bring them back for more.

TIP: Interesting, informative copy is much more attractive to Google then useless nonsense.

4. The easiest way to find quality backlinks for your site is by installing the free Google Toolbar. With it you can find out the Page Rank (PR) and backlinks for any site you visit and then easily determine if it is worth the time and effort to link to that site.

5. Choose a short catchy domain name. If possible, find a keyword for your domain, one that people will remember and that is easy to type into Google or a browser to find what they’re looking for on the Internet.

We are talking about putting in some time and effort, but if you want it bad enough then you have to pay the price. Those who take the time to optimize their pages for Google and achieve a high page rank are the ones with all the traffic.

There are times Google’s heralded ad affiliate program isn’t in your long term business interest.

There are times Google’s heralded ad affiliate program isn’t in your long term business interest. Oh no I said it!

AdSense isn’t the unstoppable revenue engine for every eBusiness. Before I am taken out and flogged by the eCommerce pundits — please let me explain what I mean in my defense.

I make revenues from AdSense at a very high click-through rate. I experience high click-through rates with AdSense without resorting to questionable tactics like tricking site users with photos (the AdSense trick and tip dujour).

So my perspective is from one who has made decent income from AdSense to fund aspects of his business like advertising seminars — and outsourcing to his virtual assistants. Yes, AdSense is a legitimate and significant revenue source. However evaluate AdSense with some type of balance.

By now you may have heard about people like 6 figure income with AdSense, or Jason Calacanis of Weblogs being on his way to generating 1 million dollars in AdSense revenue. Google’s Ad revenue sharing affiliate program for publishers certainly seems to be an eSales Nirvana for many webmasters.

But there are obvious and not so obvious times not to use AdSense ads on your sites. Let’s list – examine – and explain them below.

1. On Sales or Mini-sites

This is a no-brainer. If you are trying to sell a particular product that is important to your bottomline, you don’t want AdSense ads distracting your customers from either joining your email list, or hindering your site’s online sales process.

However I do see hybrid sites that are mini-sites or full scale eCommerce sites, with AdSense at the bottom of their pages. This might not be so bad since only 1% – 15% of your site visitors will either buy from you or fill out a form.

The thinking with this approach is you might as well make money from disinterested parties using up your server’s bandwidth.

2. SEO Business Sites

If your livelihood depends on search engine optimization or marketing for a living you might want to think twice about displaying AdSense Ads on your site. I can tell you this from personal experience. I once was on top of MSN for search engine marketing in my local area. I concentrated on my local area because I found people felt more comfortable hiring an eCommerce consultant locally.

One day my site fails totally out of the MSN index. After intense study I noticed that I obviously had a filter on my site from MSN.

I analyzed all the top ranking sites in MSN and noticed the only difference between me and the other top ranking sites was I had Google AdSense ads on my site. Someone at MSN felt that my AdSense ads, and perhaps to a less extent, my book on SEO, was getting a free ride in the MSN search engine database.

In fact I noticed that there were no sites with AdSense ads for at least the first 3 pages. Plus the sites with AdSense were only using 1 ad unit at the bottom of the home page (there were very few of them in the top 5 pages).

I knew it was strange to not have AdSense ads on the top Internet marketing sites. This prompted me to scan other industries where I noticed the same trend.

Many of the leading SEO gurus have sites that have been banned from the top listings by the search engines. It seems the more visible you become, the more of a target your sites are to the search engine auditors.

Some of my sites are still on the top of MSN with AdSense ads but that doesn’t mean they won’t also be targets in the future.

Let’s face the facts. MSN and Yahoo! have competing ad networks to Google’s, and this competitive situation is rife for a potential backlash against SEO sites with AdSense ads.

Many SEOs will point to exceptions to this position. However you have been warned!

Think about it, how long will MSN and Yahoo! sit back and watch SEO driven websites use their search indexes to fund Google? Did you know SEO in MSN and Yahoo(!) — is much easier to obtain.

Therefore optimized sites are creating an ad sales wealth transfer from MSN and Yahoo into the pockets of Google! It won’t be long before Yahoo! and MSN begin to devalue ranking on AdSense sites in their databases — if not outright ban them.

If you are in the search engine business stay search engine neutral, or create multiple sites for different search engines.

3. When AdSense Becomes Your Only Business Model

When you become so myopic in your thinking that you build a business solely on AdSense revenue — think again my friend. Why build a business solely on the largess of Google?

I don’t know if your realize it or not, but the sites making the real big AdSense money usually have a following that doesn’t depend on the search engines. Internet mavens like Chris Pirillo or Joel Comm have been on the Internet a while and have followings for their websites. Therefore they can consistently make six figures with AdSense.

These content powerhouses are an asset to Google and not the other way around. But do you think Google is going to sit back and watch just anybody make big bucks off of their top rankings?

If you do a search on most keywords you will notice many of the top ranking sites are news sites, .gov sites, or .org sites these days. The only exception is in industries where these sites don’t really exist like eCommerce industries (clothing, shopping, etc.).

No doubt in most industries you will notice a conspicuous scarity of AdSense sites in the top rankings. In other words don’t bet your future fortunes on AdSense.

An IPO based on projections of AdSense revenue isn’t in the future for the average eBusiness. Think of Google AdSense as supplemental income. Building a business solely on AdSense revenue isn’t just silly — it’s just plain stupid.

Human edited web directories are import because they are much more exact directory and weed out sites that are junk and have no substance. Placing your link on web directories gives website owners an advantage of getting higher search engine. The higher the search engine ranking is equal to getting more traffic to your website, it is much more than that, the higher your page rank more and more people want to trade links, take your content which gives you more links and more traffic. A good PR gives better position in Google’s search engine results. By submitting websites to directories will increase traffic, profitability and search engine page rank.

Webmasters who use directories for increasing link popularity should check out the directory first to see if the directory is SE friendly or not as, only a SE friendly directory will give value for their links. When individuals go to a web directory they are looking for some specific information. Perhaps one of the most highly sought after web directories are the web directory by Yahoo and Dmoz.

Many webmasters use something called reciprocal linking, which is a technique where a webmaster places the other webmaster link on their site and the other webmaster places a link form the other webmaster, so in fact they are placing the other link on their site. Here are some easy and quick methods you can use to start building your link network campaign that will drive visitor traffic to your website.

Many web directories are free, but when the directories reach higher and higher page rank they start charging money. If the website charges money to submit a link you sometimes have a choice of placing the link as features which is then placed on the top of all other links. To get traffic to your site you need to build free incoming links on many web directories, trading links with another site is another form of web directory so doing both is a great marketing plan.

Receiving free traffic from web directories is a definite benefit when figuring out the marketing budget. The first benefit to acquiring free traffic from web directories is that it is an economical way to obtain website visitors. Basically web-hosting directories are of two types: paid web hosting directories and free Web hosting directories.

Your income is driven by how many visitors you receive to your website. The more visitors you receive the better your chances of having people purchase your product. Try to submit to as many web directories as possible; it is time consuming because most do not accept automatic submission. Webmasters are always looking to get traffic to their website either by free methods or by paying for it. There are directories that offer both but if adding your link as a free link it will take longer to be added to the directory, paying for the link guarantees your link will be added quickly. Another place to receive traffic is to place your link on article directories and the newest form is video directories.

In the SEO world there is an addiction. Its the green blocks that appear on the google toolbar that is know as Page Rank or PR

In the SEO world there is an addiction. Its the green blocks that appear on the google toolbar that is know as Page Rank or PR. Due to the recent update of this counting system, which is powered by Google, its time to review the real understanding of PR. Focus on this mis-information, which, doesnt really help them get a top ranking

Lets look at the base of information that is Google PR. Much has been written and discussed. Google has used PR as a form of ranking and, for a long time is was seen as a major factor of getting results . If you search for increase page rank you will find many articles, features and opinions.

Enter 2007 and beyond, Google Page rank has created services who sell links, based on PR. Some content sites with with good PR are selling focused keyword text links to those who want links, as a way of getting a higher ranking. Google has come out saying this is essentially attempting to buy a ranking to manipulate the search results.

Also submission to search directorys is seen as a valid way of gaining backlinks .Pricing can be based on the PR of the home page. Here is a statement you need to remember:

Google ranks pages not web sites”

Remember when doing submissions to directory sites and more importantly paid listings, it’s the Page Rank of the PAGE that the link is on, that is important. Keeping in mind that it the internal page has a good ranking, it should send traffic to your site too.

It is possible for internal pages to gain a higher page rank than the home page. However keep in mind that if a site has page rank (of some amount) then it is seen as trusted source of information, both by visitors (if they are webmasters) and by Google

So is there a way to increase PR and your ranking?

Firstly dont focus on PR- in can be fickle and misleading. It is subject to Google changing the rules, which they reduced serveral times at least once a year. If you focus on creating reasons for Google search engine spider, to come back, that by itself will help with PR and ranking.

The simplest thing you can do is change and update your pages. Keeping your pages fresh will be seen as new content and bring back the google spider. The more this occurs, the more likely your Page Rank will increase.

This is why blogs (in general) do well in natural search results because they provide regular changing information.

This may seem blunt, but Page Rank is not the key to rankings. You are best focused on building a site that is 100% search engine friendly and focusing on getting links you cant go wrong.

The world today is dominated by computers and the Internet. With more and more entrepreneurs engaging in ecommerce, having a high site page rank is important. There are a million pages on the Internet today, each one having different page ranks

The world today is dominated by computers and the Internet. With more and more entrepreneurs engaging in ecommerce, having a high site page rank is important.

There are a million pages on the Internet today, each one having different page ranks. Page rank, in sum, is a measure of website link popularity. Google ranks pages based on the importance and relevance of pages, though some pages can be seen in context with the reputation of the whole site. The higher the page rank is the more people who get to see the page. In general, however, a website’s homepage can have a different page rank from the “articles” pages.

Business owners and many Internet marketing professionals constantly study the algorithm being used by top search engines especially Google as most traffic comes from this site. Knowing the algorithm used to determine page rank; professionals can now create the fastest and easiest way to increase page rank.

When Internet users search for information on the Internet, they use certain words to find what they need. Internet marketers use all sorts of techniques to find these keywords and focus their efforts to increase page rank by using these terms. Some use search engine optimization methods such as the installation of Meta tags and description to help search engine spiders understand what the page is about. Others take advantage of better web design while others buy text links so as to redirect traffic towards their site. Some webmasters choose to exchange links with other sites in the same niche.

According to a survey conducted in 2005, majority of web traffic to sites come from major search engines such as Yahoo, MSN, Google and AskJeeves, with Google leading the pack and sending 37.3% of traffic to sites. This is the reason why most webmasters aim to increase Google page rank. Pages are ranked from 0 to 10 and it is said that 97% of sites are ranked between 0 to 6.

When you buy web text link as a strategy, don’t expect that you can get an immediate increase Google page rank since Google uses a secret algorithm in ranking pages. You need to ensure that the site you are linking to is relevant to your site’s content. This means that even if you have 1,000 links to different real estate sites and but your website is about music production, you can still get a page rank of 0 because your relevancy factor is low.

Targeting the right audience is the best way of increasing your page rank. As such, internet marketing is more complicated than what most people think as you will need to make your research so you have a better idea about the people who are actually using your product so you can make the necessary adjustments for your marketing strategies.

In sum, a higher Google page rank doesn’t guarantee higher traffic and sales but ranking good in search engines opens new business opportunities for these sites at the top.
